Crescent Heights is a diverse, vibrant neighbourhood in the northwest heart of Calgary located just north of the Bow River and downtown. Breathtaking views of downtown Calgary can be enjoyed here and the hilled escarpment is considered a tourist attraction. Its close proximity to the downtown core makes this a very desirable area as you can walk or ride your bike there within minutes. Crescent Heights has actually preserved its history and a lot of it is untouched. There are still several pre-WWII homes that are slowly being converted to infills and larger new homes in the millions of dollars range. The community was developed in 1911 with the community association formed in 1977. Nearby schools include the Crescent Heights Senior public high school.
With the newly redeveloped landscaping along the ridge in 2018, the running and walking paths now have benches to sit and relax after your exercise regime or to simply enjoy the sunset or the yearly Canada Day fireworks.
The Community Association membership is inexpensive and voluntary. A valid membership is usually required to participate in recreational, social and educational programs from soccer to girl guides, karate to yoga, stampede breakfasts to senior programs, movie nights and much more! Several Calgary recreation centres offer a discount for association membership holders. The Crescent Heights Community Centre has rooms available for rent to community members as well as the public.
